Impeach Bush! Why didn't they do that after the 2000 election which he stole in Florida screwing all those black and Jewish voters? In 2006 getting rid of Dubya while great fun would require impeaching his entire system his judges his spies his politicians generals propagandists capitalists wife and a million kinds environmental poisoners. Impeaching Bushism seems like grabbing hold of those old weird vaudeville barbells that nobody could lift unless you know the special trick. ---- Day In The Life -- I had a hard night of disconnected unpleasant dreams and woke up early with a stomach ache. It's typical of chemo. The stomach ache has eased up a bit and I feel oddly undrugged and in the world. I have a friend coming this weekend who is going to do a film interview of me on Yippie. It's for a long planned documentary and I told my friend that given the change in my health he better speed up the plans. --- Is Capitalism destroying China? The countryside poor are being ripped off by corrupt local officials. The poor are getting poorer and more riotous and rebellious. The central government openly recognizes all the problems but can't do anything much about it. Have local officials gained so much power that the "centrals" are defeated. Modern China was finally unified by a socialist revolution, maybe capitalism is reversing the effect -- taking China apart? --- I saw a bootleg tape of the film Let It Be with D. The Beatles meet at Apple Studios in London. Obviously they are not getting along. John certainly loves Yoko more that he loves Paul. Although there is much coldness and alienation, the music gradually brings them together. God, it is unbelievably good and they wind up playing on the roof of the Apple Studios drawing a crowd and eventually some police attention. This is the boys last collective effort and it is mind blowing to discover they were as wonderful as ever, perhaps on the brink of new musical discoveries. And then they threw it all away. The second time around there was less personal attention paid and it was much less private. Judy wasn't allowed in but accomplished rule breaker that she is -- she was there anyway, at least for a while. This time the chemo was administered while I sat in a special chair (it was in a bed last time), It's the same machine dripping harsh medicine into the body through the hand. The first time they spend a lot of energy explaining the process, so they take you aside in a private situation. None of that the second time around. There will be a third session next week -- and then I get a week off. ----- Poll shows slightly more than half of America doesn't mind Dubya reading their mail or listening to their phone calls, provided he's doing it for their own good and security. Bush argues he has a right to anything he wants, because he's the boss. Sleeping during the day and waking up semi frightened but not yet pot paranoiac. I stopped taking the pot pills for the moment. They do help with appetite and mood. But maybe I was taking too much. As prescribed, three a day with meals may too much. I'll see how I feel today. Judy and I went in for my blood tests at Kaiser. First thing in the morning it felt like a war time forced march. I have to show certain developments to be allowed to do the chemo again tomorrow. I only got up once and feel rested this morning. Maybe the chemo side effects are wearing off - just in time for me to fo the process again on Friday. Some nice visits from friends yesterday and a great e-mail. You can look with them, be inspired, but you learn quickly bridges built with hope are very narrow indeed. -- Day In The Life -- As I battled on through the night, a nasty constipation induced by chemo was reversed with old fashioned laxatives. I was less chemo knocked out yesterday and so I slept less during the day and more and better at night. Is the chemo helping me? Probably. While I'm taking it. The test will be in the two week rest period (taking place after completing two three week cycles of taking the drugs.) . Will the positive influence be sustained? -- We watched a three hour bio documentary on Lincoln on the History Channel. It was excellent but the point that Lincoln was a very depressed death oriented guy was overdone and over repeated. He's giving away the entire planet bring in your rich and super rich credit card leave your guns at home just show up and start stuffing. ---- Day In The Life. --We had some guests over, but I was really spaced on the chemo and falling asleep. I also managed to get in some reasonable conversation. When it came time for my ordinary sleep. I was way too awake. So I kept getting up and the night was very hard. I was composing e-mail at 3.30 in the morning. I took the chemo on Friday, maybe its sleepy effects will start backing off today. Jessica returns to SF today. I spent all of yesterday fighting the hiccups. They were probably a chemo side effect. I was medically advised to drink ice water, eat sugar, manipulate my eye balls and much more. Almost every trick worked some of the time but not with predictability. I had to keep changing my tactics. Somewhere in the middle of this struggle we drove to Wongs King, our favorite Chinese Restaurant, and did a "pick up" posted by stew at 9:46 AM
