Splits

Yesterday the Junta
leaked
two stories.
Bush had run out of patience
and
the war was on.
Bush would delay
the war
and
give
the inspectors
more time
to
agree
with him.
The Stock Market tanked.
The sound of one mind cracking.

While waiting for the deluge
American Generals
discussed
bombing Baghdad
everywhere
everyplace
in
every minute
and
maybe
using battlefield nukes
on Iraqi chutzpah,
if they
actually
fight back.
Discussion
also centers on
securing oil fields
and
making Iraqis
pay in full,
for our liberating them,
giving them,
a
wonderful life.
The sound of one mind cracking.

Boxing Day

How tacky can the Junta get?
Bush talking in front of a curtain
that has drawings
of
many boxes
saying
"Made in the USA."
(You are supposed to think they are real.)
Bush always likes
to have
slogans
printed in back of him.
Slogans like
"Bush means money for me."
And he never says it
but
you
think it.
Clinton
should have advertised
"Clinton means sex for me."
Maybe the Democrats would still be in the White house?

In his speech
Bush
urged Iraqi soldiers
to
disobey
their officers
and
not fight back
if
the US invades.
"If you obey them,
we will hunt you down
and
'persecute'
you
as
a
war criminal."
"Persecute"
is right.
In the entire history of war,
who ever heard of
ordinary soldiers
being busted
for defending their country?
Bush
figuring
his
ignorant whims
are
replacing law.
(Both foreign and domestic.)

During his speech
reporters
noticed
some real boxes lying around.
They had
"Made in China"
printed on them.
But Bushies taped it over.
Does Bush think
that
China will disappear so easily?

Oh well,
at least
Dubya's ratings
are falling
like
King Kong off the Empire State building.
Maybe the Emperor of the Universe
will
be
a
one term tyrant?

Sportsmanship

Super Bowl San Diego Sunday
will
be
cleansed of Arabs
if the INS
gets it way.

It's called "Operation Game Day."
Foreign born Arab:
Taxi drivers
security guards
bus drivers
concession workers
who function near the stadium
having
some technical violation
in their
Imigra status
are
being busted.
Maybe 80 so far.
And:
A
few
Mexicans
for good measure.

For
Aryans attending
the
ritual game,
security will
be like
Iraq and an airport
with
no fly zones
and
searches and seizures.

Hitler
cleaned up Berlin
for
the
1936 Olympics
and
Peking
does similar house cleansing
in
the
name of sport.

Now
America
is seriously purifying
its
homeland hygiene.
Kind of encouraging Arabs to get homesick.

It's all so familiar.
To steal
a phrase
from
the blabbering Bush.
"It's a bad movie. And I don't want to see it again."

Left Overs

Left over
"crap from the 60's"
Bush Junior said that
years back
when people pointed out
he
got into
Andover
Yale
Harvard
only
because of
his
family name and money.
You are being divisive he shouted
You are waging class war he maintained.

Dubya says
the same thing
today
when you point out
that
he
wants to cut dividend taxes for the rich
and
make
working mothers on welfare
work
an additional ten hours
away
from their kids.
He says:
You are waging class warfare!

Why are the rich
never accused
of
starting that war?
Of launching
preemptive attacks against
the
poor mothers
accusing them
of
building
weapons of mass struggle?

Squeezing their labor
and
preventing their vote.
Bush
must consider the poor
just
some left over
crap
from
the
60's.

The Silver Spoon

The whole world is watching
George Bush
trying
to escape
peace.

The Iraqis
are
playing it cool.
Giving UN inspectors
full
power
to
inspect.
Saddam's Psychos
are being reasonable.
What next?
Flying frogs?

The French
are
saying Non!
to
Powell's preachments
of
instant war.
And:
Millions are marching
against
blasting Baghdad.

Most Presidents
would back off
and
claim a victory.
We made Saddam respect international agreements!
Hooray!!!!
But
G.B. isn't an ordinary President.
They are elected
and
don't get power on a silver spoon
(unless they sniff it)
and have not lived
a life
of total failure
and
undeserved
and
magnificent
reward.

Dubya gets what he wants
even
if
it's against the rules.
He wants
to be
reelected
and
he wants
Iraqi oil
and
he wants to surpass his father:
Who never served a second term.
Who never strutted into Baghdad.

How will
he
snatch and crush
the
dove?

Will another
monstrous blood bath
of
terrorist attacking
and
killing thousands
be blamed
on
Satanic Saddam?

Or will Dubya
just give the man
24 hours to get out of Baghdad
(like Wyatt Earp and the Clantons)
and
come
blasting and bombing
Children's hospitals
on
the
25 hour of
Apocalypse Now.

Maybe it's time
we
bent
his
silver spoon?

George On Martin

On Martin Luther King Day,
George Bush
went to Church
and gave a speech.
He said
that
when it came
to
American race relations
"more work needs to be done."

I guess
he thinks
Blacks haven't been screwed enough.

He is opposing affirmative action,
this rich kid
who got into Yale
with
a
C average
and
appointing racist judges
to rule
on
Civil Rights.

The Bush Junta
follows
the
racists
and
the
Christian Crazies
right down
the political line
of
their absolute cruelty.
But try
to follow
the
Ace of Spades
as
Dubya moves it
to the right
to the left
acting like a fascist
sounding like
a
slick moderate
and
getting Colin Powell
to talk
as if his regime
was
one big happy family
of
human diversity.

Last year
in his
State of the Union Address
Bush coined
"axis of evil"
and
reporters are wondering what new phrase
he's going to come up with
the
second time around.

How about something really appropriate:
Like,
Now you see it
Now you don't?

Peace Power

It's a kind of secular miracle. 20 to 25 thousand marching against the Bush war. It's a record for peace marches in Oregon. Even beats the Sixties.

All kinds of people, carrying all sorts of signs, and chanting various and sundry slogans. Even a few marching bands. About 25% raised their hands when asked if this was their first peace march. My first, was in 1960 over atmospheric H-bomb testing. I've done it countless times but this one was special. There is no draft and the war hasn't started. The message is clear. Bush is single handily rebuilding the protest movement. Creating something that will be larger and much more varied than in the 60's. Even the wretched Ronald Reagan couldn't manage this feat! Boy the people hate Bush. You can tell from the hand made signs and the chants. One really pissed off participant went so far as to wear a Bush mask and a small rocket at penis level.

The march was fantastic. It offered hope in a dark forest. But, as usual, the rally sucked. There were some good speakers but they went on for far too long saying things that had already been said and said again. This time, there was almost a rebellion. The crowd kept interrupting speakers chanting "March, March" and some did actually break away and start marching against orders. Most remained however for the official OK, but they felt like kids doing High School detention.

Another problem came from two speakers who repeatedly attacked Israel, without condemning Palestinian terrorism or supporting Israel's right to exist. This brought some angry crowd comments about "this isn't why we came here." I know Jewish people who stayed away because they feared being exposed to this type of unbalanced Middle East style politics.

I really admire the demonstration organizers for devoting their lives to these events but honestly, they are going to have to learn about holding informative entertaining and brief rallies or just just stop having them.

One last and very strange note. There were real Nazis at the rally. Some were present in a stealthy way, hiding behind anti-Israel signs, but one guy (having a small kid present for protection) was actually sporting a large black swastika one a red patch, in the middle of his cap. He made it through the whole rally. In the Sixties, he wouldn't have lasted for a minute.
