kabalists take notice,
today at the wetlands
the spark-shell ratio
was favorable
for repairing the world.

young trees were growing
out of ancient stumps,
sometimes whole gardens
blossoming out of
forgotten ancestors.

the wetlands
were dry,
sunshine sparkle
filled its stream.

idol thoughts
become idle thoughts
on a restfull weekend.

We will go to the wetlands
on Saturday,
the sun shining
with bright Fall clarity
sparkling and crisp
of endless mystery.

Several hours
alive outside,
empire of
oil and blood.

Lately, I have had to deal with some very foolish people and there was no way out, I had to deal with them and suffer greatly my time and spirit. Makes me think. Maybe that's why people will murder each other to become rich and have global power? They can always fire a fool. Hire a genius. Or in the case of our Bush, burn their cities to the ground. And drill them for oil.

Maybe the reason for Bush's strength
is our morality?
Standing straight in a crooked world
hurts and is hard
and Bush can twist to all his angles,
stealing Iraqi oil for himself and friends,
becoming a billionaire
richer than his father
and we honor
all those inner rules,
no easy shortcuts,
the pirates of penzance
only fought those
who were stronger
and never hurt an orphan
and always lost.

You are getting older,
you no longer
want to be the leaves,
you want to be
the tree.

The war machine is up and running. Bush going on TV promoting major murder. Godzilla is now a robot. Who can stand up to the monster of greed, death and insane ego? "Not I" say the Democrats who ran out of courage when they let Bush Steal This White House. The UN Security Council? Can they go eye to eye with the machine? We will see.

Yesterday I marched in a large anti-war demonstration in Portland OR. The paper says 6,000 attended and Indy.Media says close to 12. I put the figure somewhere in between. It was a very mixed crowd, from people even older than me to young kids. Old ladies in tennis shoes and some very edgy punks. It was a long march, that began and ended with a rally. My favorite sign? "We're back! " And we are. Yesterday over a million and half marched in Italy and a while back a half million in Blair's England. And yesterday even thousands of Geneva Swiss took to the streets. Will it matter? Prorbably not for now. Will Bush permit demos in America when we go to war? Probably --but it wont be easy getting permits - and better not try it, if you don't have one. Unless ofcourse your in to masks, bandanas and blood.
My big question (aside from why my body is so sore and depressed today) is - how many people demonstrated yesterday --who never demonstrated before?
